As we enter the first few months of 2025, Florence Copper continues to make significant strides in the construction of its commercial copper production facility. This expansion builds on the success of our smaller-scale production test facility, which produced over one million pounds of copper using our innovative and proven in-situ copper recovery (ISCR) process. At the end of January, project construction was over 60% complete, and we continue to expect first copper cathode production at the end of this year.
Florence Copper now has approximately 360 construction personnel hard at work on our site. Collectively, this team has safely and successfully logged ~450,000 hours to build the project. We are incredibly proud to be the only greenfield copper producer currently under construction in the U.S.
A key focus of the construction program at Florence Copper is wellfield expansion, with five drill rigs now operational on-site. In addition, construction of the commercial SX/EW plant is well underway (photo above). This facility will play a crucial role in the copper production process, plating copper cathode sheets right here in Florence. Florence Copper is on track to become the third-largest copper cathode producer in the U.S., strengthening domestic mineral security at a time when America remains reliant on copper imports and China produces nearly half of the world’s refined copper.
We appreciate the ongoing support of our community as we advance through this important phase of the project. As construction progresses, we look forward to sharing more updates on the exciting milestones ahead.
Stay tuned for more details in the coming months, and as always, thank you for being part of the Florence Copper journey!
