Happy beginning of fall from Florence Copper! As we look forward to seeing some cooler fall temperatures soon, the team at Florence Copper is staying active, as we are at a very important point in the project’s development.

The Florence Copper site is currently under construction to expand its facilities into commercial operations. This marks an expansion of the project’s small-scale production test facility, which successfully produced over one million pounds of copper on site using innovative and proven in-situ copper recovery (ISCR) technology.

One major component of the commercial expansion includes expanding the wellfield. The project now has four drill rigs on site. Our team is also preparing for the construction of the commercial SX/EW plant, where copper cathode sheets will be plated (see above for a photo of construction progress). It is expected that the first copper cathode sheet from the commercial facility will be produced at the end of next year (2025).

As Florence Copper continues construction activities, we want to thank everyone who visited our Florence Copper Open House in April and spoke with our team to learn more about our construction program. See below for a few photos of the event, which took place at the historic Florence Woman’s Club in downtown Florence.

Finally, Florence Copper is proud to continue our commitment to investing in our local community. We are thrilled to announce several community donations for the first three quarters of 2024 – including $11,000 in local scholarship awards, $23,500 in Florence Copper Community Foundation grants, and a $50,000 donation to the Town of Florence to support a special project at Heritage Park playgrounds. As we embark on this exciting new chapter in Florence Copper’s history, our team sincerely thanks you for your continued support over the years.
