In the fourth quarter of 2024, the Florence Copper Community Foundation awarded a $1,000 grant to the Friends of the Viney Jones Library to support the library’s popular Healthy Lifestyles Program. This funding will provide essential resources for the program, including fresh fruits, vegetables, and other supplies for monthly cooking classes aimed at promoting health and wellness within the community.

The Healthy Lifestyles Program offers hands-on educational experiences for all ages. Participants can enjoy sessions such as Family Cookery, Teen Chefs, Healthy Snack Tuesday, and Adulting 101. These classes teach practical skills for preparing healthy meals and snacks on a budget.

Lisa Lewis, Library Manager, expressed gratitude for the grant: “With this support, we can continue offering much-needed programs that teach healthy habits to our community. We’re excited to see the positive impact this funding will have on our residents.”

By helping fund these initiatives, the Florence Copper Community Foundation contributes to the mission of the Friends of the Viney Jones Library to enrich the lives of Florence residents through education and engagement.
