The Florence Copper Community Foundation has awarded a $2,000 grant to the Pedro E. Guerrero Arts Center to support its mission of fostering creativity and community through art. This funding will help the center make vital upgrades to its facilities, expanding access to arts education and programming year-round.

With the grant, the center plans to install modern heating and cooling systems in its garage studio and artist residency cottage. This enhancement will enable the center to offer new workshops and host visiting artists throughout all seasons. The expanded studio space will feature popular programs like stained glass, silversmithing, and printmaking, allowing the community to explore a diverse range of creative outlets.

Marian Palaia, Executive Director of the arts center, expressed her excitement about the grant: “We most gratefully accept this generous grant… We’re thrilled to be able to expand our offerings to include the clay studio, stained glass, and silversmithing. This grant will surely help to make it all possible.”

The Pedro E. Guerrero Arts Center, established in 2022, continues to honor the legacy of its namesake by inspiring creativity and enriching the Florence community through art. The Florence Copper Community Foundation’s grant underscores its commitment to supporting cultural heritage and the arts, a vital component of a thriving community.
